The E.E. Wilson Papers include Wilson's professional and personal papers and document his education, family, work as an attorney, and public service activities. The Personal/Family Records (Subgroup 1) consist of school notes and records; materials pertaining to civic, political, and community service organizations; personal correspondence and memorabilia, much of which belonged to his mother; and books from Wilson's personal library. Subgroup 2 includes correspondence of the Board of Regents and records of the Memorial Union Board of Governors. The Local Development Issues subgroup consists primarily of materials pertaining to water usage, the Corvallis Water Commission, the Mary's Peak watershed, and regional transportation, primarily railroads. The Game Commission records pertain to the Commission's administration, fisheries, game birds, big game, radio broadcasts by the Commission, Wilson's speeches on wildlife issues, the Oregon Cooperative Wildlife Research Unit, conferences, and special projects and activities of the Commission as well as reference materials assembled by Wilson pertaining to wildlife management. The Business/Real Estate Records include title abstracts, plat maps, financial statements of the Benton County Abstract Company, abstract and deed correspondence, and mortgage additions records.

E.E. Wilson was a Corvallis College alumnus (1889); Board of Regents member; member of the Oregon State Game Commission; and Corvallis lawyer, businessman, and civic leader. He earned his law degree from the University of Oregon in 1893 and set up a law practice in Corvallis that year, specializing in land acquisition and disposition.
